WE'RE BACK!

Yes, we definitely have taken a vacation from Blogging...but it's not because we have been on vacation ourselves (well...except for that Honeymoon that was thrown in there).
Life as "The Nichols" these first three months has been quite hectic...full of travels, house hunting, parties, and (of course) joining our lives together to start our new family! Here is a few updates of what we have been up to (amongst other things)...we hope that you enjoy! And we promise to keep you more up-to-date as Jeremy & Stephanie Nichol's Lovely Days continue on!

Babies Shower

On July 19, I co-hosted a Babies Shower for my good friend Keri Allard.
"Babies?" you may wonder...yep, she is having twins in just a couple of short months!
Here is Keri in a new crown for her collection! I was really happy with how well the colors came together...another decorating job done for now!

As centerpieces around the room, I attempted my first (3 in total) diaper cakes. This one was my favorite...I used baby washclothes to look like flowers on the layers of the cake!

Congratulations Keri & Simon!!!

We are so excited for you and cannot wait to meet

Victoria & Henry!

Surprise!

My wonderfully-thoughtful husband threw me a
surprise 30th Birthday party on Saturday July 12!
We were supposed to be going to dinner with our friends Robb & Luanne at Tutto Pasta (one of our regular haunts), but instead, there were a bunch of my good friends and even my family!
Not only did he coordinate this fun treat,
but he also decorated the room! I must be rubbing off in good ways! :)
And, to top it all off, he had a cake made in the same flavor that I LOVED from our wedding!
Thank you so much Jeremy, for making my 30th Birthday so special!
...how did I get so lucky?! :)

They Grow up so FAST!

We had one weekend this summer (June 14-15) where 3 very important kids in our life had 1st Birthdays! We were so glad that we were able to make it to all three parties to celebrate!
The first party on June 14 was for Evelyn Hanson who turned 1 on June 8th. It was so nice to get a chance to visit with Marisa, Mark & see how much Evelyn has grown!
That same day, we also went to my nephew Connor's 1st Birthday...he turned 1 on June 11th! It was so much fun to see everyone and play with the kids!

We also were able to spend Father's day with my (Steph's) Dad, followed by a birthday party for Duncan Vogel in the afternoon...unfortunately, I forgot my camera for that party!

Happy Birthday

to all of the wonderful

1-year olds!

Honeymoon in Vegas

We had a great few days in Las Vegas after the wedding. Although it was windy most of the time, the weather was still beautiful. We had a great time--although not a relaxing time--and unfortunately, we came home with lighter pockets than we started with.
After a long half-day of travel, and an un-ready room...we needed a drink!

The first of many for me!

Jeremy in front of the Venitian

The FANTASTIC view from the window in our suite made the wait for the room definitely worht it!

Jeremy and I waiting for the non-appearing fountain show. It turns out the the first 2 1/2 days, it was too windy to have the fountains on. :(

It's almost like we went to Paris!

My college roommates jointly gave us a gift certificate for a WONDERFUL dinner at Olives followed by tickets to see the Cirque du Soleil show "O"...definitely the highlight of our trip! Here we are on the patio we ate dinner on at Olives. Our view throughout dinner--amazing!

We started our last full day in Vegas having lunch at Margaritaville...they have the BEST nachos we have ever eaten (and the largest)....

...in addition to the most alcoholic drinks!

Views from the city...

Jeremy convinced me to go to the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandaly Bay...it ended up being really cool!

Finally...the fountains were on!

Jeremy was sad that we didn't have time to see one show in particular, as you can tell!

Wedding Pics

We haven't gotten too many pictures (other than the photographer's) from the wedding, but here are two of my favorites! It's hard to believe that was already 3 months ago! Where does the time fly to? Thanks to everyone who helped make it such a perfect day! I love this picture, because it is one of the few ones that really captures my dress...I wish I could wear that dress again! :(
Our first dance...and "they" said we couldn't dance to Lovely Day! :) I absolutely adored our cake...it was perfect...and SO delicious!

Me and my college roommates...friends for life! I was so glad that Elyce, Jeni, Erin, Marisa, & Kim (all the way from CA) were there to share the day with me!

P.S. If you have any pictures from the day, I'd love to see them! Please send them our way!

Hello from the Nichols!

Well, it's official! As of April 19, we are MARRIED!
Thank you to Marisa Hanson for this picture from our wedding day! :) We are so glad that so many people could come and celebrate our special day! While we have a lot of memories to share from that week, and the honeymoon, until we get time to add those pictures, please enjoy a slideshow of our wedding day from our Photographer...

Back by popular demand...

Okay, so maybe not by popular demand... We've (and by that I mean me...Steph) taken some time off from our blog to get ready for the wedding (which is already coming in less than 1 week! As you can see, we've definitely been busy, which is why there haven't been any updates to the blog up until now. I hope that these new entries satisfy your curiosities for now, and once we get back from our "Honeymoon in Vegas", we'll definitely update you with memories from the wedding and our trip! Thanks for your patience so far in 2008!

Congratulations Jeremy!!!!

On Saturday, April 5 we attended the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association (WBA) awards dinner. A sports story that Jeremy had worked on was nominated for 2 awards...and he won!!! It was a great night, as his station won many awards...likely because of the added talents of Jeremy!!! Congrats! :)

Bachelorette Weekend

On March 29-30, my bridesmaids threw my the best Bachelorette Weekend! What better way to spend one of my final "single nights out" that a weekend in Chicago!
We met down there around noon, took some time for lunch and Shopping, and then all of the girls has a little party with fun gifts for me (of course, I'm not going to share those pictures!!!).
Then we got ourselfs all dolled up and headed to the top of the Hancock buildings for yummy drinks & a gorgeous view.
That happened to be the night of "Earth Hour", when cities across the earth shut off unneeded electricity for 1 hour. Here is a view of the city missing some of it's most famous buildings!
After drinks, we headed to Wildfire (one of my favorite restaurants) for a fabulous meal! Jeremy would have loved to see a table of us 8 lovely ladies with our steaks for dinner!
After dinner, we went out to a few different bars for so fun and dancing. It was such a fun weekend! Thanks so much Jeni, Keri, Kim, & Marisa!!! I couldn't aske for better friends (and family!)
