CrazyLegs 2007

On Saturday morning, we took part in one of the most time-honored traditions in Madison...the Crazylegs Run-Walk. It is an 8k Run or a 2 mile walk (we took part in the walk).

15,000 people took part in Crazlegs this year, so we were in good company the whole way. This is just a "small" group of the people lined up for the run.

The run-walk end up on the field at Camp Randall Stadium. Here we are entering the stadium, nearing the finish line. We are planning on participating again next year--hopefully then as runners!

America has voted us the next "American Idols"!

If you heard a lot of howling on Saturday night, it might be the dogs that could hear the singing going on at our friend's Keri & Simon's house. We had a great night at their "Karaoke & Guitar Hero" party...and even Jeremy got in the act. Thanks for hosting such a fun night Keri & Simon!

Jeremy & I were quite "rockin'" while singing U2's Vertigo Johnna, Simon, & Angie were quite the entertainers (Is this the dance to "Baby Got Back"?! )

Here are Angie & Jeremy singing some "Love Shack"...we found out that Jeremy is quite the rapper on Saturday night.

Keri & Johnna were giving Britney Spears a run for her money. The highlight of the evening had to have been Simon & Roman's duet of "These Words" by Natasha Bedingfield. In this picture, I think that they are singing "I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you"!

Start Spreading the News...New York, New York

On Friday, April 13, Jeremy and I took a vacation to the Big Apple--New York City. It was a trip that we both had wanted to go on for a while. After a slight delay to get there, because of winds, we finally made it there safe and sound! Here are some pictures from the trip: This is Times Square--it is so much brighter and busier than this picture shows! Here we are in the lobby of the Empire State Building at 11pm on Friday night.

Day 2 of NYC trip

The Second day of our trip (Saturday) was beautiful. The sun was out and it was a clear day. Good thing, because we had a lot planned for the outside. First we went to Central Park...what better way to see it than on a carriage ride! It was amazing to be in the middle of a giant park with such tall buildings surrounding you. Next we took a trip on the Staten Island Ferry. From the ferry we could see the Statue of Liberty, NJ, Ellis Island, NYC, and the Brooklyn Bridge. What amazing sights!

Our favorite part of the trip was the Brooklyn Bridge. Not only did it lead us to Jeremy's favorite Pizzaria (Grimaldi's) in Brooklyn, but it was home of some of the most beautiful views of the city.

Working for an Investment Company....of course we had to go to the NYSE, Wall Street, and stop by to see the Bull! After a VERY nice dinner at Bobby Van's, we headed to Rockefeller Center and the Rainbow Room.

Sunday, Rainy Sunday

Sunday turned out to be quite an interesting day in New York City. The rain that we were expecting turned out to be New York's largest recorded rain --8 inches in the city!

The city suddenly didn't seem quite as tall, since you couldn't even see the tops of the buildings!

Although most of the people of New York City stayed indoors, it didn't stop us from taking advantage of our last full day in New York. We took our first trip on the New York Subway system to get the day started.

We took the 4- train to the Bronx...home of Yankee Stadium. After a wet walk around the stadium, we found out that the tour of Yankee Stadium we had scheduled had been cancelled due to the rain. None the less, we took pictures to prove that we were there!

We then came back to the city for lunch (and dessert) in Little Italy. Afterwards, we took a break at the hotel to dry off. Then we ventured out more for some shopping on 5th Avenue. As you can see...the drying off didn't help for very long!

After another "dry-off" break, we headed to dinner at "Wolfgang's". We ate really well everywhere that we went, however, the Chocolate Cake at Wolfgang's really took the cake! We had such a great time in New York and look forward to going back again!
