Rhythm & BOOMS!

On Saturday, we attended Steph's favorite Madison event...Rhythm & Booms! For those who don't know, it's the "Midwests Largest Fireworks Display" set to music! They say that 300,000 people attend it yearly, and it is Wisconsin's biggest one-day event!
For the past 3 years, we've gone together (Steph's been going for many years before that) and had a great time! This year we got to the park around 4:30 pm, and enjoyed the beautiful weather, yummy snacks and a game of Trivial Pursuit (Jeremy won), before the 9:30 fireworks.
The fireworks this year were big and loud--the perfect combination. We hope that you enjoy seeing them just a little bit as much as we did. And, hopefully it will put you in the mood to have a wonderful 4th of July! Have a very Happy Independence Day!

Happy Father's Day

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY
to all of the father's (both veteran dad's and the many first-time dad's) in our lives!
Here is my Dad with his new Grandson Connor.
I'm sure that they will share many more lazy afternoons in front of the TV together!
Father's Day at the Teigen house wasn't so much about the Father's this year, as much as the little boys that might one day grow up to be Father's. With Connor still being so little and new, he was definitely one of the Stars of the day, but Ian will also always be a star...how can they not be when they are both just so CUTE!

Here is Ian on the go (as usual) all wrapped up in ribbon from a present and rushing off to play with his new toy. And the bug stickers we gave him were a hit! Not only did he wear his (one his face)....

But he was even nice enough to share with his little Brother! :)

Ian even got a ride with Grandma on her Golf Cart (yes, it is actually a child size!)

A perfect addition!

On Tuesday night, we took a trip up to Neenah, WI to meet Connor for the first time! He was the perfect little Angel the entire time. He didn't cry at all while we were there. He was awake when we first got there, Steph got to feed him, and then he slept like a log the rest of the time. He definitely has the same "Can Sleep Anywhere, and Through Anything Gene" that runs in Steph's blood!
Here is 3/4ths of the happy family (Kim, Connor, & Gary). Ian had a day off, but will be hanging out with his new brother tomorrow.
Do you see any family resemblance?
Here are two of the most laid-back boys to ever exist!

This Future-Heart-Breaker is already learning how to pucker up! Girls...watch out!

Welcome to the family Connor!

On Monday, June 11, Steph became an Aunt for the second time!
Connor Reed Ross was born at 12:09pm by C-section and was 7lbs, 4oz. Kim (Steph's sister) is doing well after the surgery. Ian got a chance to meet his new little brother, but didn't spend too much time with him. So far Connor is much quieter and sleepier than Ian...which I'm sure is a welcome change for Kim & Gary! Congratulations Kim & Gary! We are so excited to welcome Connor to the family!

Welcome to the World Evelyn!

On Friday, June 8 at 6:59am, our friends Marisa & Mark welcomed to the world their new daughter, Evelyn Marie. On Saturday, I (Steph) was lucky enough to get to take a trip up to Green Bay to visit with the new Mom and Dad and meet Evelyn for the first time. Here is a picture of Eveyln at only 1 hour old! What a beautiful smile she already has!

Marisa is doing great and is going to make such a wonderful Mom!

And Already Evelyn is Daddy's Little Girl!

Congratulations Mark and Marisa...we know you'll be such great Parents!

Birthday Wishes

This past week was Steph's cousin Dylan's 2nd Birthday. On Saturday, I (Steph) went to his birthday party in West Allis, WI to help him celebrate (Jeremy spent the day at a Track meet in LaCrosse, WI). If only adults would get as excited as kids when opening their birthday presents! Here he is with his new tricycle...he hasn't quite gotten the peddling part down, but he certainly loves to "drive" around, as we push him! Here is the smiley boy with his Daddy (my uncle Brian). Thanks for hosting such a fun afternoon!

Meet the Parents

This past Memorial Day weekend, Jeremy's parents (Mary Lou & Dan) came to visit us. In additon to trips to Whole Foods and Trader Joes (Dan bought a whole case of 2-buck Chuck to take home), we were able to show them some of our favorite parts of Madison.
On Friday, Jeremy took his parents for a walk on Picnic Point, where they were able to enjoy Lake Mendota and some of the beautiful views of the city.
What sort of Memorial Day would it be without a stop at Brat Fest? Dan and Mary Lou thoroughly enjoyed their Wisconsin brats.
One of Dan & Mary Lou's favorite parts of the trip was getting to see the Oscar Mayer Weiner-mobile. Saturday night, Steph's parents came down to Madison for the first meeting of our Parents. Everyone had a great night and really enjoyed getting to know one another.

It turned out to be an enjoyable weekend. Thanks Mary Lou & Dan (Mom & Dad) for coming to visit!

Mother's Day

On Sunday, we headed up to Oshkosh to celebrate Mother's Day with Steph's family. Of course, even with two mom's there (Steph's Mom & sister Kim), the focus of the day was Steph's 2-year-old Nephew Ian. We brought him a little present...an "Ian-sized" water gun, which he had a lot of fun with. Here he is chasing Steph around the house! Even Grandpa wasn't safe from the water! What a smiley little boy! Ian is so smiley and giggly all of the time...he brings a smile to everyone else's face.

Of course, the point of the day was to celebrate all of the Great Mom's out there (like Steph's, here in this picture)! We hope that all of the Mom's and Mom's-to-be in our lives had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Turkey Day

Literally, yesterday was turkey day! Last night, around 7pm, we were in the kitchen unpacking groceries, when Jeremy pointed behind me and said "turkey". Of course, I was confused as heck, until I turned around....there, standing right at our patio door, looking in at us, was a full-grown turkey! The only thing seperating us and him was a flimsy screen door.
We grabbed the camera to take a picture, but gosh, those things are fast, especially for being so BIG, and it ran away. Just imagine one of those things looking at you through your windows!
It was one of the stranger things to happen to us in our apartment. Maybe he was supposed to remind us to be thankful for all the blessings in our lives!
